PT Asuransi Astra Buana (Asuransi Astra) has successfully proven its business resilience amidst global economic turbulence. The company's success in executing its portfolio diversification strategy across various business lines has been the key factor in maintaining performance stability and the company's reputation in the eyes of the international rating agency, AM Best.

In its latest rating report, AM Best assigned a Financial Strength Rating (FSR) of A- (Excellent), a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating (ICR) of a- (Excellent), and an Indonesian National Scale Rating (NSR) of aaa.ID (Exceptional). All of these assessments were assigned a stable outlook, marking a positive achievement that the company has successfully maintained for four consecutive years.

AM Best analysts highlighted that the diversification of Asuransi Astra's business lines, especially in the non-motor vehicle sector, has effectively expanded its market reach. Although the motor vehicle insurance segment still relies on finance company (leasing) distribution channels, development in other segments has proven capable of strengthening the company's resilience to market dynamics.

In addition to a neutral business profile, AM Best also assessed Asuransi Astra's balance sheet strength as very strong. This position is supported by an excellent level of capitalization, as reflected in the Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR) which is maintained at the highest level through the end of 2025.

The company's organic capital growth also showed a positive trend with a 17.1 percent increase in shareholders' equity in 2025. In terms of profitability, the company recorded a return on equity (ROE) of 18 percent, driven by consistent investment performance and solid underwriting efficiency.

Responding to this achievement, Asuransi Astra's management expressed their commitment to continuously innovate and strengthen governance. The company is determined to use this international rating achievement as a foundation to enhance customer and stakeholder trust, while remaining adaptive in facing future challenges in the insurance industry.
