The Sumbawa Regency contingent concluded their struggle in the XII West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) 2026 with a very proud record of achievement. As of the final recapitulation on Friday (24/7) evening, the region nicknamed Tana Samawa successfully secured a total of 195 medals and strengthened their position in the province's sports elite.

Based on official data, Sumbawa's medal tally consists of 54 gold, 59 silver, and 82 bronze medals. The sport of sepak takraw, under the auspices of PSTI, emerged as the main star of the contingent with a contribution of 10 gold medals. This dominance made sepak takraw the largest gold mine for Sumbawa throughout the competition.

Apart from sepak takraw, significant contributions were also shown by archery (Perpani) and athletics (PASI), each collecting a total of 17 medals, including 4 gold medals. The sport of billiards (POBSI) also successfully contributed 4 gold medals. Several other sports such as Pergatsi, FASI, Perkemi, and PBSI also strengthened the medal tally by winning 3 gold medals each.

Chairman of KONI Sumbawa Regency, Abdul Rafiq, expressed his highest appreciation to the athletes, coaches, and all officials who fought hard on the field. He emphasized that this brilliant result will be an important evaluation material for compiling a more solid long-term coaching program, especially in preparation for the XXII National Sports Week (PON) in 2028.
