The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar continues to expand its reach on the international stage. This time, 26 students were directly deployed to study the working systems of the global manufacturing industry at LY Furniture Sdn. Bhd., Johor, Malaysia, on Monday (13/7/2026). This step is an important part of the experiential learning method to bridge academic theory with the reality of the international working world.
This off-campus activity was led directly by the Dean of FEB Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Edi Jusriadi, accompanied by academic figures such as Dr. Mira, Dr. M. Yusuf Alfian Rendra Anggoro KR, and Dr. Samsul Rizal. During the visit, the students explored the company's operational management, including quality control (quality control), supply chain management (supply chain), to strategies for surviving in the global market.
Unlike regular comparative studies, this program is designed for active student interaction. They did not just observe from afar, but were allowed to enter the production area to dialogue directly with the management and local workers. This provided a comprehensive picture of the application of modern technology and professional work culture.
Dr. Edi Jusriadi emphasized that cross-border practical understanding is crucial in shaping students' character and critical mindset. He asserted that classroom learning must be balanced with real experiences abroad so that graduates have high competitiveness when entering the dynamic global job market.
Moving forward, FEB Unismuh Makassar is committed to continuing to expand similar strategic programs. The faculty does not only rely on industrial visits, but also designs student mobility (student mobility) programs, international guest lectures, collaborative research, and international internships with overseas partners to produce outstanding, globally-minded graduates.
