The Fakfak Regency Government, West Papua, has taken strategic steps to modernize the region's health sector. The Regent of Fakfak, Samaun Dahlan, officially launched the Sistem Integrasi Cepat Pelayanan Terpadu Santun (SI CESA) application at the Fakfak Regional Hospital (RSUD) on Monday (3/7/2026). This digital innovation is designed to accelerate service bureaucracy while providing friendlier and more responsive medical treatment for the community.
The launch event was also attended by the Vice Regent of Fakfak, Donatus Nimbitkendik, the ranks of Forkopimda, and the leadership of the Regional Government Work Units (OPD) within the Fakfak Regency Government. The SI CESA application itself is a change project initiated by the Director of RSUD Fakfak in the Administrator Leadership Training (PKA) program to simplify patient flow and strengthen synergy between medical units.
In his speech, Regent Samaun Dahlan emphasized that technology must be accompanied by a change in the mental attitude of medical personnel. According to him, caring for patients is not just an administrative matter, but a humanitarian mission that demands high care, patience, and great moral responsibility.
In addition to launching the application, the Fakfak Regency Government is also committed to addressing human resource shortages in the health sector. After coordinating with the Ministry of Health in Jakarta, the Regent stated the local government's readiness to recruit up to 1,000 additional healthcare workers to meet needs at the hospital and community health centers (puskesmas) scattered across the Fakfak region.
Through the integration of the SI CESA information system and the projected addition of thousands of medical personnel, the Fakfak Regency Government is optimistic that the quality of local health resilience will become stronger, more inclusive, and able to quickly respond to the real needs of the community.
