The Teungku Peukan Regional General Hospital (RSUD-TP) of Southwest Aceh (Abdya) Regency has just completed the calibration process for hundreds of medical devices. This strategic step was taken as a form of the hospital's commitment to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of equipment to guarantee the safety and quality of healthcare services for all patients.
The checking process, which lasted for nine days from June 23 to July 1, 2026, partnered with PT Global Promedika Services as the technical partner. The testing covered various vital units, ranging from the Emergency Room (ER), inpatient rooms, laboratories, to operating rooms. The management ensured that all procedures were carried out on a scheduled basis so that hospital operations continued to run smoothly without disrupting patient comfort.
The Director of RSUD-TP, dr. Ismail Muhammad, Sp.B, familiarly known as Ismuha, emphasized that calibration is a mandatory standard in the maintenance of medical assets. According to him, device accuracy is the backbone of safe and professional medical services. Out of a total of 387 units tested, 382 devices were declared to have passed operational standards and were fit for reuse.
However, the hospital found five units of equipment that could not be calibrated due to permanent damage: one ECG unit, one phototherapy unit, one sterilizer unit, and two sphygmomanometer units. Responding to these findings, the management of RSUD-TP committed to replacing the equipment to minimize medical risks in the future.
This effort is a realization of the hospital's vision to prioritize patient safety and strengthen public trust. With standardized infrastructure management, RSUD-TP continues to strive to improve service quality through professional collaboration and periodic monitoring of the medical technology they use.
