A total of 56 students from the Nutrition Study Program at Al-Azhar Indonesia University (UAI), classes of 2024 and 2025, conducted an industrial visit to the PT Mengniu Dairy Indonesia facility located in the GIIC Area, Kota Deltamas, Bekasi, on Thursday (9/7/2026). This activity was designed as an experiential learning tool to connect students directly with the operational realities of the international-scale food industry.

As part of the Chinese dairy giant, China Mengniu Dairy Company Limited, the factory presented an automated fermented milk production workflow. Students explored each stage, from raw material selection, mixing, and fermentation processes to packaging systems fully integrated with robotic technology to maintain efficiency and precise product quality.

During the direct tour of the factory floor, participants learned about strict food safety protocols. The entire process takes place in a sterile environment under rigorous oversight through automated inspection systems. Beyond production aspects, students were also shown the company's commitment to sustainability through its Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) facility as a form of responsible industrial waste management.

Nabila Aulia Nisa, one of the participating students, appreciated the company's openness in providing deep insights into plant operations. According to her, this experience offered valuable new perspectives on the real work environment, going beyond classroom theory, particularly regarding food quality control standards.

The university hopes this activity will equip students with relevant practical competencies. Direct interaction with modern industrial technology is expected to motivate students to become future nutrition professionals who are ready to compete and understand professional standards in the global food industry.
