Puputan Badung I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung Field no longer serves merely as a fitness center for residents, but has also transformed into a magnet for musical arts. The Puputan Field Walkers Community (Kaplut), which originally consisted only of residents exercising in the morning, has now evolved into an active musical community bringing together people of all ages in the heart of Denpasar City.
General Chairman of Kaplut, I Kompiang Wiranata, shared that this community was born organically in mid-2025. A simple post-exercise routine of gathering and singing together in front of Jagatnatha Temple received a warm response from the public. This positive reception encouraged the Denpasar City Government to provide concrete support in the form of musical equipment assistance through the Department of Culture as well as CSR funds from Bank BPD Bali.
Over time, Kaplut's presence became even stronger after being officially recognized as a social pillar under the Denpasar City Social Services Department and inaugurated by the Mayor of Denpasar in June 2026. Today, the community of 120 members has become an inclusive space open to anyone regardless of age, regularly featuring acoustic performances every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday morning.
Kaplut Advisor, Ida Bagus Rama Jaya, emphasized that the community is driven to be a platform for creative collaboration. The Kaplut stage is now wide open not only to senior musicians, but also to middle school/high school students, university students, and local music groups such as Starlight Band and Angels Junior. Moving forward, the community even plans to revive Balinese music memories by inviting legendary bands from the 80s and 90s to perform once again.
In celebration of this creative spirit, Kaplut is currently preparing an Independence Concert titled 'Denpasar Happy' to be held on August 16, 2026. Through intergenerational collaboration and government support, Kaplut is committed to keeping the pulse of creativity and happiness alive among the people of Denpasar City.
