Dozens of residents from RW 11, Sukamaju Kidul Village, Indihiang Sub-district, Tasikmalaya City, held a peaceful protest at the Indihiang Sub-district Office on Monday (3/8/2026). They demanded firm action from the local government to immediately close the Kings Family nightlife venue and eradicate the circulation of alcohol (miras) in their neighborhood.
The protest was triggered by the concerns of residents who felt that the activities of the karaoke venue disrupted public order. The Head of RW 11, Yajid, stated that complaints regarding noise and alleged alcohol sales around the location had been frequently reported, but no concrete action had been taken to provide a permanent solution for the comfort of the residents and children.
During the audience held in the sub-district hall, the residents not only urged the closure of the business but also directed strong criticism at the performance of the Head of Indihiang Sub-district (Camat), Hendro Haryoko. Some residents even demanded that Hendro step down from his position, as he was deemed slow and unresponsive in handling this recurring issue.
After a rather tough discussion, tensions eased after the Sub-district Head agreed to sign a statement of commitment to follow up on the process of closing the Kings Family karaoke. The signing was welcomed by the attending residents as a serious initial step by the bureaucracy.
Responding to the strong protests, Hendro Haryoko apologized for the inconvenience experienced by the residents during the process of handling this issue. He also firmly denied allegations that he was protecting or taking sides with the operators of the nightlife venue.
Hendro emphasized that the sub-district office had coordinated with the village government, the Military District Command (Koramil), and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) to conduct periodic monitoring on the ground. He promised to continue overseeing the enforcement of these regulations in accordance with his authority to maintain peace in the Indihiang area.
