Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University (UIN) Bandung has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a Rabbani and Quranic generation. This was demonstrated through the online selection process for new student admissions via the Quran memorization (Tahfidz) track for the 2026 academic year, held on Monday (July 6, 2026).
A total of 291 prospective students participated in the selection process. Head of the New Student Admissions Center (PMB) at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Dr. Mohamad Erihadiana, M.Pd., stated that this track serves as a strategic platform for Quran memorizers to pursue undergraduate education with high Islamic standards.
To qualify for the next stage, participants are required to have memorized at least 10 juz mutqin (fluently and accurately), verified by an official certificate. The panel of examiners conducted a comprehensive evaluation covering aspects of tajwid, tilawah, fashahah, rhythm, as well as a deep understanding of religious moderation and national insight to ensure the intellectual and spiritual quality of prospective students.
Director of Ma’had Tahfizh UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Prof. Dr. KH. Asep Mustofa Kamal, M.A., added that this process is not merely an academic selection, but an effort to find top talents to support the university's vision of being a campus that is rahmatan lil ‘alamin (a mercy to the universe). Admitted participants will undergo intensive mentoring throughout their study period.
The entire exam series, involving 35 examiners and 24 assistants, was conducted objectively and orderly. The university is scheduled to announce the selection results for prospective new students on July 15, 2026.
