The University of Information Technology (UIT), a member of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, has officially set the minimum quality assurance threshold for freshman admissions for the 2026 academic year. This policy is implemented through a comprehensive selection method that combines various academic assessment criteria.
For the selection track based on the 2026 high school graduation exam results, the university has set a minimum score of 22 points for all study programs. However, a special exception is made for the Microchip Design program, both regular and international classes, which requires a minimum score of 23 points with an additional requirement of a Mathematics score of 7.5 or higher.
For prospective students applying through the Ho Chi Minh City National University Aptitude Test track, the threshold score is set at 717 points. Specifically for the Integrated Circuit Design major, the standard score is raised to 761 points, with a minimum Mathematics component score of 195 points. In addition, applicants using the international certificate track must meet a combination of criteria, including a minimum SAT score of 1,170, a minimum ACT of 26, or equivalent educational certifications such as A-Level or International Baccalaureate (IB).
The university also emphasized that all applicants for international class programs are required to have English language proficiency certification, with a minimum standard equivalent to IELTS 5.0. This year, UIT aims to admit more than 2,300 students across 20 majors, with projected annual tuition fees ranging from 41.8 million to 140 million VND.
The entire 2026 freshman admission process will focus on two main tracks: direct admission in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and comprehensive selection based on academic achievement. For comparison, in 2025, the admission threshold for flagship programs such as Artificial Intelligence reached 29.6 points.
