BANYUMAS - In an effort to break the chain of Tuberculosis (TB) transmission, the Kembaran Police under the Banyumas Police (Polresta) directly assisted health workers in conducting close contact tracing. This preventive measure targeted residential areas in RT 05 and RT 06 RW 01, Karangtengah Village, Kembaran Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency, on Friday (24/7/2026).
This tracing activity was initiated by the medical team from the Kembaran 2 Health Center, led by Village Midwife Yuninda Riyandini, A.Md.Keb., with support from local village health cadres. Community Police Officer (Bhabinkamtibmas) Aiptu Agus Susilo also escorted the process to ensure smooth data collection and screening of high-risk residents, including active smokers and those who had interacted with positive TB patients.
Through this early detection, health workers can immediately identify residents showing signs of exposure to TB bacteria. Quick medical intervention is expected to speed up patient recovery and prevent wider transmission, both within families and the surrounding community.
Banyumas Police Chief Senior Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Petrus P. Silalahi, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., through Kembaran Police Chief Police Commissioner Assistant (AKP) Hariyanto, S.H., emphasized that the police involvement in this health initiative is clear evidence of the National Police's commitment to supporting government strategic programs. In addition to maintaining order, the presence of officers is expected to enhance the sense of safety for medical workers and foster a cooperative attitude from local residents.
Close collaboration between police officers, healthcare workers, and village cadres is considered the main key to successfully controlling infectious diseases at the grassroots level. The entire series of TB contact history tracing activities was reported to have run safely, orderly, and under control.
