Residents of Sidodadi Village, Penarik Subdistrict, Mukomuko Regency, are firmly urging the local government to permanently close an entertainment venue operating in the midst of a residential area. The presence of the venue is deemed to have created noise, triggered commotions, and led to deviant behavior that threatens public order and the character development of children in the area.
A local community leader, Supardi, who is also the Chairman of the Penarik Branch of Muhammadiyah, revealed that residents' anxiety was triggered by the entertainment operations running late into the night. Aside from the noise, residents often encounter visitors driving while intoxicated, directly endangering the safety of the villagers.
Supardi emphasized that the community had followed proper procedures by reporting this situation to the Regent of Mukomuko and the Municipal Police (Satpol PP). There was once a joint decision to suspend the venue's operations for two months, but recently the business has resumed activities without clear permits, triggering disappointment among residents regarding the misalignment of policies between village institutions.
Furthermore, he highlighted communication obstacles between the Village Government and the Village Consultative Body (BPD), which made the enforcement of rules inconsistent. Residents are now demanding that authorities immediately conduct field verification and take firm legal action to guarantee the community's right to a healthy and safe environment.
This move is emphasized not as a form of unilateral rejection, but as an effort to protect the public interest. Sidodadi Village residents hope the local government will not hesitate to crack down on the violation to ensure that the future of education and the peace of the residents are preserved.
