Wuling Motors has once again shaken up the national automotive market by launching its latest electric vehicle line, the Wuling Aira ev, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Featuring compact dimensions similar to the Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) segment, this urban electric car comes with various modern technological advantages ready to redefine the entry-level car market in Indonesia.
Unlike conventional budget cars which generally lack entertainment features, the Aira ev is equipped with a 10.1-inch interactive touchscreen integrated with the Ling OS operating system. This technology provides Internet of Vehicle (IoV) features via the MyWuling+ application, smartphone interconnection, and Multiple Scene Mode to instantly adjust the cabin atmosphere.
Designed specifically to navigate congested city streets, the Aira ev measures 3,268 mm in length, 1,550 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,190 mm. For battery performance, Wuling offers two range options: Standard Range with a distance of up to 205 kilometers and Long Range which can cover up to 301 kilometers based on the CLTC cycle.
The main advantage that sets it apart from other budget car segments is the support for DC Fast Charging. This fast charging technology is claimed to be capable of charging the battery from 30 to 80 percent in just 35 minutes. On the safety front, the vehicle body structure has been reinforced with 60 percent high-strength steel to ensure optimal safety for its users.
At the automotive exhibition, Wuling officially released the price of the Aira ev for the domestic market. The Standard Range variant is priced at IDR 155 million, while the Long Range variant is offered at IDR 175 million. This competitive pricing makes it one of the cheapest electric cars as well as a serious challenger to the dominance of conventional LCGC cars.
Vice President of Wuling Motors, Arief Pramadana, stated that the Aira ev is designed to be a practical mobility solution for all segments of society through the "Fun Everyday, For Everyone" concept. By offering three attractive color options—Starry Black, Galaxy Blue, and Milk Tea—this environmentally friendly electric car is expected to efficiently support consumers' daily activities.
