The Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the United Development Party (PPP) of Situbondo Regency now holds a strategic position as a calculated political barometer, both regionally and nationally. The Chairperson of DPC PPP Situbondo, Zeiniye, emphasized that the momentum of the party's 53rd anniversary serves as an important turning point to conduct a deep reflection on the political journey of the Kaaba-symbolized party.
This consolidation step was taken following the results of the 2024 General Election where the party's national vote share failed to cross the parliamentary threshold. Realizing this challenge, Zeiniye emphasized that the main focus of the management currently is to reconnect with constituents at the grassroots level to ensure that public loyalty and support remain intact.
As part of a long-term strategy, PPP Situbondo has initiated Basic Cadre Leadership Training (LKKD). Interestingly, cadre recruitment is no longer limited to the party structure at the sub-district level, but also embraces millennial and Gen-Z groups who have proficient technological literacy. This approach is considered crucial in maximizing the demographic bonus to disseminate the party's vision and mission.
Furthermore, Zeiniye aims to increase the number of seats in the Situbondo Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from the current nine seats. She believes that strengthening the quality of cadres must go hand in hand with expanding the voting base. For DPC PPP Situbondo, the quantity of votes remains a serious performance indicator to guarantee the party's political existence and influence in the future.
