The NasDem Party Faction of the Jember Regency Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) has declared its full support for the Jember Regency Government's initiative in launching the "Home Care" healthcare program. This tactical move under the leadership of Regent Muhammad Fawait (Gus Fawait) is considered a crucial breakthrough in expanding medical accessibility, particularly for vulnerable and financially disadvantaged groups.
The Chairman of the Jember DPRD NasDem Faction, David Handoko Seto, emphasized that the presence of this proactive outreach program is a concrete answer to the various obstacles residents have faced so far. Economic difficulties and limited transportation to reach healthcare facilities such as community health centers (puskesmas) or hospitals are no longer barriers for residents to obtain proper medical services.
David explained that the key to the program's success lies in strong grassroots synergy. The active data collection of residents in need of medical treatment will involve neighborhood and community unit heads (RT/RW), village officials, sub-district offices, and local health volunteers to ensure that medical interventions in the field are faster and targeted.
Through this integrated scheme, patients do not need to travel long distances as doctors and nurses will directly visit their homes. The emotional connection between medical staff and the community is also expected to grow stronger, as the real condition of patients in their living environment can be monitored directly to provide premium service.
To support field operations, the Jember Regency Government has deployed around 1,200 healthcare workers ready to provide basic check-ups free of charge, as well as facilitate further referrals via telemedicine systems. Logistical support is also reinforced with the provision of 10 new Home Care fleets and the repurposing of 40 official vehicles from various agencies to mobilize patients in hard-to-reach areas.
