The PDI Perjuangan Faction of the Jepara Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) officially expressed its approval of four out of five Draft Regional Regulations (Ranperda) during a Plenary Meeting held on Thursday (7/9/2026). Despite supporting the legislative step, the faction provided strategic notes to the Jepara Regency Government to ensure that the resulting legal products have a real impact on regional development.
In the final perspective presented by the faction's spokesperson, Tri Budi Cahyono, it was emphasized that the formation of regional regulations must serve as an effective instrument in improving public services and stimulating the local economy. The primary focus of the faction lies in the development of the tourism sector, which is considered an underutilized driver of Regional Original Revenue (PAD).
The PDI Perjuangan Faction urged the local government to integrate marine and land tourism destinations so that economic circulation is evenly distributed. In addition, they highlighted the need to review the Regional Regulation on Tourism and Entertainment Implementation, as well as to increase the budget allocation for promotion in order to attract more tourists to Jepara.
Beyond tourism issues, the faction also encouraged the strengthening of fiscal independence through professional asset management, investment optimization, and the empowerment of people-based economic sectors such as MSMEs, farmers, and fishermen. Improving governance and following up on the Audit Board's (BPK) recommendations were also crucial points submitted to ensure that the use of the regional budget (APBD) is better targeted.
Meanwhile, regarding one draft regulation concerning the amendment of Regional Regulation No. 15 of 2012, the PDI Perjuangan Faction requested further, more in-depth discussion. This aims to ensure that all resulting substance aligns with higher laws and regulations and truly guarantees the overall welfare of Jepara residents.
