The Digital Business Study Program of the EMTEK Digital Media Institute (IMDE), in collaboration with the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) West Jakarta, organized a webinar titled "Still Overthinking Starting a Business? It's Time to Turn Ideas into Action". The online event, held on Friday (July 24, 2026), is part of the IMDE Open House series aimed at boosting the entrepreneurial spirit of the younger generation.
The event generated high enthusiasm, drawing hundreds of participants from diverse backgrounds. Ranging from IMDE students, high school/vocational school students, fresh graduates, to government representatives and entrepreneurs, attendees actively participated in discussions, creating a dynamic and interactive space for exchanging ideas.
The webinar featured two experienced practitioners from HIPMI West Jakarta as keynote speakers: Ongky Kurniawan, Head of Education, Research, Innovation, Employment, Health, and Sports, and Aditya Burhan, Head of the Education Compartment. The interactive discussion was moderated by Akmal Jalaludin Muhammad, an active student of the IMDE Digital Business Study Program.
During their presentations, the two speakers emphasized the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. They highlighted classic challenges such as fear of failure and limited initial capital, which often hinder young people's first steps. The speakers encouraged participants to view these obstacles as stepping stones to innovate and optimize the digital ecosystem.
In addition to mindset theory, participants were equipped with practical guides for analyzing market opportunities, formulating value-added products, and understanding the importance of networking. The session became highly interactive during the Q&A, where participants consulted directly on strategies for starting a business from scratch and sustaining it amidst intense digital competition.
The Head of the IMDE Digital Business Study Program, Hanindito Rahmanda, stated that the partnership with HIPMI West Jakarta is a concrete implementation of an industry-based curriculum. Through this program, students are expected not only to absorb academic theory but also to be directly inspired by the real-world experiences of practitioners, making them better prepared to adapt to modern industry dynamics.
