Chery Group, through its new energy vehicle sub-brand iCAR, officially introduced its latest SUV model, the iCAR V27, at the 2026 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) held in BSD City, South Tangerang. The presence of this eco-friendly vehicle marks a strategic step by the manufacturer to expand advanced technology electric vehicle options in the domestic automotive market.
Featuring a classic boxy SUV design concept combined with modern touches, the iCAR V27 showcases a bold and rugged body silhouette. Its adventurous character is further highlighted by heritage-style headlights, sturdy roof rails, 21-inch dual-tone wheels, and a full-size spare tire mounted on the rear. Its dimensions are quite large, measuring 5,045 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, 1,894 mm in height, and with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
The main advantage of the iCAR V27 lies in the application of Golden Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology. This electrification system allows the vehicle to be charged directly with electricity or use gasoline as a generator to charge the battery. Supported by a 1.5T Turbo Range Extender engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.79 percent, this car can travel up to 200 kilometers in pure electric mode, with a total combined range exceeding 1,200 kilometers.
In terms of performance, this SUV is equipped with a Three-Motor True Electric AWD drive system that combines a P1 motor-generator, a P3 front motor, and a P4 rear motor. This configuration is capable of delivering a maximum power of up to 335 kW or equivalent to 455 PS with a peak torque of 505 Nm, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Additionally, the iCAR V27 is also equipped with nine driving modes adaptive to various road terrains, such as ECO, Comfort, Sport, and All-Terrain.
Country Director of iCAR Indonesia, Marshall Ma, emphasized that the presence of the Golden REEV technology variant completes their electric vehicle portfolio in Indonesia. Although the impressive specifications and performance details have been fully revealed to the public, iCAR Indonesia is still keeping the official retail price for the domestic market under wraps.
