Universitas Hindu Indonesia (UNHI) in Denpasar witnessed the start of the Global Hindu Business Conference (GHBC) 2026, an international forum bringing together business actors, investors, diplomats, and academics from ten countries. The three-day event, running from July 10 to 12, carries the major theme "Towards Dharmanomics: Designing the Future" as a commitment to creating an economic future based on Dharma values.
Dato’ Pardip K. Kukreja, Chairman of the Global Hindu Entrepreneur Network (GHEN), explained that the choice of Bali as the host location was based on the island's position as a global center of Hindu spirituality and cultural heritage. Through this platform, delegates are invited to adopt the concept of Dharmanomics, an economic development model that focuses not only on profit generation but also upholds ethics, sustainability, and collective welfare.
The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, gave his full support to this initiative, especially in efforts to empower the Hindu youth. The Vice President emphasized the importance of the role of young human resources in utilizing the demographic bonus through technology mastery and active involvement in the creative industry and green economy sectors, in line with current government priority programs.
In line with this vision, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Ni Luh Puspa, highlighted Bali's great potential in sustainable tourism development, particularly in the wellness tourism sector. According to her, the combination of natural wealth, local wisdom, and spiritual values is the primary capital that makes Bali a unique destination for the global market.
The highlight of the event was marked by the presentation of the Prajaniti Dharmaraja Award 2026 to several national and international figures deemed inspiring in their fields. In addition to strategic discussions and business matching sessions, the organizing committee also provided access for 100 university students to interact directly with global investors, as part of efforts to build an inclusive and internationally competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
