Governor of West Sulawesi, Suhardi Duka, has instructed all healthcare facilities in his region to provide fair and equitable medical services. He emphasized that the aspect of saving patient lives must always be prioritized over any administrative procedures.

During a virtual morning assembly with local government officials, Suhardi emphasized that there should no longer be any rejection of the public, especially underprivileged citizens, who need emergency medical assistance. For him, health is a basic citizen right that must be fulfilled by the government, regardless of social status or economic condition.

This emphasis is part of the strategic steps taken by the West Sulawesi Provincial Government to strengthen the accessibility of healthcare services. The Governor also requested all related agencies to tighten cross-sector coordination so that the implementation of this policy runs smoothly on the ground.

Responding to these directions, the Head of the West Sulawesi Health, Population Control, and Family Planning Agency (DKPPKB), dr. Nursyamsi Rahim, declared her readiness to tighten supervision at the hospital and Community Health Center (Puskesmas) levels. Her office promises to ensure that excellent service standards are maintained for all layers of society without differentiating financial capabilities.

This strengthening step is aligned with the priority program Quick Wins "Sulbar Sehat". The program prioritizes Universal Health Coverage (UHC) as the main instrument to realize an inclusive, quality, and equitable healthcare system in West Sulawesi.
