The search operation for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo, namely Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15), has been officially extended. This decision was made after the joint SAR team failed to find any signs of the two climbers' whereabouts by the seventh day of the search on Wednesday (8/7/2026).

Coordinator of the Wonosobo Basarnas Post, Dani Fitra Maulana, confirmed that as of 5:00 PM WIB, field search efforts still yielded no results. Nevertheless, the SAR team remains committed to continuing the search efforts by extending the duration for the next three days.

"We conducted an evaluation on the seventh day and decided to extend the operation for the next three days. We ask for prayers so that the two survivors can be found soon," Dani said in a statement on Wednesday evening.

In the follow-up strategy, the SAR team plans to maximize the number of personnel currently on standby at the Krinjing Village Post. In addition, the involvement of hiking basecamp operators around Mount Bismo will be increased to strengthen the search area.

The focus of the joint team's search is now directed at high-potential spots, including the Igir Gedhe area and the ridge area around Curug Telu and Curug Silandak. As of the publication of this report, several Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) teams are reportedly still on-site to comb the climbing terrain.
