PT Indosat Tbk is predicted to maintain a solid performance trend until the end of 2026. This projection comes amid a recorded decline in the company's prepaid subscribers in the first quarter of 2026 to 92 million, lower than the 94 million recorded in the same period last year.

On the other hand, the postpaid subscriber segment demonstrated resilience, remaining stable at 2 million users. Market observers view the contraction in the prepaid subscriber base not as a reflection of weak market demand, but rather as a tactical management step to refine the subscriber base for better efficiency.

Managing Director of Research at Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia, Harry Su, explained that Indosat's focus has now shifted toward enhancing the quality of its user base. This strategy is accompanied by a consistent rise in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

Furthermore, massive growth in data consumption among users and successful operational efficiencies serve as primary catalysts for the company's financial health. Strategic steps through asset monetization, including the development of the FiberCo business unit, are expected to be key drivers in boosting Indosat's profitability in the medium to long term.
