The West Java Provincial Government continues to take strategic steps to boost investment flows by leveraging the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) ASEAN 2026, held in the city of Bandung. This international business forum is projected to be a catalyst for regional economic growth and to pave the way for new job creation through closer collaboration with Malaysia.
The Vice Governor of West Java, Erwan Setiawan, in his opening remarks at the Pullman Hotel Bandung on Thursday (9/7/2026), emphasized the urgency of concrete cooperation between business actors in West Java and Selangor. The economic relationship between the two regions is indeed very strong, evidenced by Malaysia's realized investment in West Java reaching IDR 47 trillion in the last five years, along with a trade balance surplus of USD 1.1 billion.
On the other hand, the Selangor delegation, represented by the Executive Councillor for Local Government and Tourism, YB Dato' Ng Suee Lim, highlighted the healthcare sector as an entry point for broader cooperation. Supported by 42 international-standard hospitals, Selangor is targeting the Indonesian market that requires comprehensive medical services, ranging from routine health screenings to cutting-edge specialist treatments.
This strategy was reinforced by the Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Selangor, Chua Yee Ling, through the "Healthy Holiday in Selangor" initiative. This concept offers a unique experience that combines quality medical services with tourism, culinary, and shopping activities, aiming to promote a healthy lifestyle while attracting the Indonesian public to undergo regular health check-ups at competitive costs.
