Businessman Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang is currently under intense public scrutiny. Known publicly as the owner of the French bakery franchise Gontran Cherrier, he now faces legal charges after police conducted a raid on one of his property assets, now renamed de'Clan Signature, in the South Jakarta area.
Beyond the culinary business, deeper investigations have revealed Ferry's extensive business empire. Through the company PT Tompotika Mulia Abadi, he reportedly controls the steel distribution sector by serving as a distributor for PT Krakatau Steel. The operational office of the company appears closed and inconspicuous, located in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta.
Ferry's legal troubles escalated following a confrontational incident between him and a member of Densus 88, First Brigadier Faisal Faizurrahman, at a luxury hotel in Jakarta in July 2025. The incident triggered a series of interrogations until Ferry and his associate, Michael Njoman, were named suspects in an alleged kidnapping and assault case.
Behind the case, investigators from the Indonesian National Police's Corruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) discovered more serious indications. Based on digital data tracing, Ferry is suspected of involvement in case-fixing practices and extortion against suspects in major corruption cases, ranging from the tin case, the BTS project, to the procurement of educational equipment.
To date, authorities are continuing to investigate Ferry's involvement and his alleged collaboration with several parties close to rogue officials in the Attorney General's Office. Despite attempts to seek clarification, Ferry's party has not yet provided an official response regarding the allegations.
