Well-known presenter Vicky Prasetyo has been officially reported to the East Java Regional Police (Polda Jatim) regarding alleged fraud in a sale and purchase transaction of audio equipment worth IDR 213 million. The police report, numbered LP/B/809/VI/2026/SPKT/Polda Jawa Timur, was filed by Fajar, the owner of the "Kapten Audio" store located on Jalan Genteng, Surabaya.
The case began in January 2026 when Vicky directly visited the complainant's audio store to select a number of sound devices. The items were then shipped and installed in stages at a cafe owned by Vicky in Semarang, Central Java. Based on the initial agreement, a 50 percent payment was supposed to be made upon arrival of the goods, with the remaining balance paid in installments over three months. However, the complainant claims not to have received a single penny to date.
The complainant's legal counsel, Descha Govinda, revealed that his side had issued two warning letters before finally deciding to take legal action. On Tuesday (14/7/2026), the complainant visited the East Java Police Headquarters to inquire about the case's progress. Descha mentioned that communication with the reported party had completely broken down since the report was made, even though the complainant's contact number was not blocked by Vicky's side.
On the other hand, Vicky Prasetyo strongly denied the fraud allegations. He argued that the audio equipment installed in his cafe had poor sound quality and did not meet expectations. Therefore, he was reluctant to make payments and had instructed his cafe management to return all the equipment to the store. Vicky also claimed to have provided compensation in the form of creating a promotional video for the audio shop.
The issue has now become more complicated following news that Vicky's cafe in Semarang has ceased operations. Descha stated that this condition has left the audio equipment stuck at the location, which is now closed, so neither the return process nor an amicable settlement has reached clarity. The complainant emphasized that they still hope the payment responsibility can be met amicably soon.
