The Food Safety Department under the Ministry of Health has issued an official directive to the Health Department of Dak Lak Province to immediately investigate a suspected food poisoning incident involving dozens of students in Tan An Ward. This step was taken following reports of nearly 40 students experiencing serious health complaints, including stomach pain, vomiting, and sudden discomfort.
As of now, medical authorities are focusing their efforts on intensive care for the victims who remain under observation. As a procedural measure, an investigation team has been deployed to trace the food supply chain, collect biological samples, and test leftover food samples to identify the primary cause of the poisoning. Authorities emphasized that strict sanctions will be imposed if violations of applicable food safety standards are found.
In response to this incident, the Ministry of Health urged strict supervision within educational environments, particularly regarding school canteen operations. School principals have been requested to be more proactive in ensuring the quality and safety of food consumed by students to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
In addition to medical response, relevant departments have also been instructed to step up food safety education campaigns for street vendors and catering providers in the area. The public is expected to remain calm while awaiting the official investigation results to be announced by the government once the inquiry process is complete.
