The Faculty of Sports Science at Padang State University (FIK UNP) has officially sent its best delegation to compete in the 2026 Student Game Sports Invitation. This national-level competition, initiated by the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora) of DKI Jakarta Province, takes place from July 20 to 25, 2026, with the futsal sports branch matches centered at GOR Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

This prestigious tournament brings together young talents from 59 universities representing 12 provinces in Indonesia. Besides being an arena to showcase indoor football skills, this competition is designed as a strategic forum to strengthen networks among students while evaluating the effectiveness of sports achievement development at the university level.

In this event, FIK UNP fielded a solid futsal team consisting of ten student-athletes from various departments, accompanied by advisor Bram Sujadesman, M.Pd., and coach Ozha Wahyu Pra Adha, S.Pd., M.Pd. The players fielded include M. Wahyu Joko P., M. Tegar Rahmadianto, Rahmad Halim, Andhika Dwitama, Edo Apridansha, Muhammad Al-Fajri, Renuga Ramos Volta, M. Agus Saputra, Rahmat Darfa, and Dendi Fikrianyah, all of whom are selected students from the Departments of Sports Education, Coaching, and Health and Recreation.

The Dean of FIK UNP emphasized that this participation is not just about chasing trophies, but is part of a long-term commitment to building student character. Through national-scale competitions, the athletes are expected to hone their competitive mentality, sportsmanship, discipline, and leadership skills, which are crucial for their future.

This step is also in line with UNP's commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in terms of health and well-being (SDG 3), the quality of non-academic education (SDG 4), and institutional collaboration (SDG 17). Through this synergy, the campus hopes to continue producing academic athletes capable of making the institution proud on both national and international stages.
