Indonesia's efforts to boost sports performance on the international stage have entered a new chapter. The Central National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) officially introduced a book titled 'Sports Intelligence: Building a Data-Based Sports Ecosystem Towards Golden Indonesia 2045' at Surabaya State University (Unesa) on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

General Chair of Central KONI, Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman, explained that this initiative is a strategic step to move away from conventional training patterns that rely solely on intuition. By integrating *sports science*, artificial intelligence (AI), and *big data* management, Central KONI is determined to build a measurable system for athletes from an early age.

The implementation of this sports intelligence system has ambitious long-term targets: placing Indonesia in the top 10 at the 2032 Olympics and breaking into the world's top 5 by 2044. Beyond performance enhancement, this system will serve as a comprehensive data center monitoring medical records, biometrics, and kinetic analysis, while safeguarding sports integrity against doping practices and match-fixing.

Rector of Unesa, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, welcomed this collaboration, positioning his campus as the primary research laboratory. According to him, the transition to scientific evidence-based development is an absolute necessity to respond to disruption and increasingly fierce global competition.

During the book review, the writing team explained that the success of this ecosystem will rely on the 'Sports Intelligence Cycle'. This method involves meticulous planning, information gathering through *Human Intelligence* (HUMINT) and *Open Source Intelligence* (OSINT), to *real-time* data processing capable of precisely mapping the strengths of opponents on the global stage.
