The National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of Riau Province has officially opened the evaluation and verification agenda for sports branches interested in joining as new members for the 2026 period. This step is taken as part of efforts to strengthen the organization and improve the quality of sports governance in the region.
This selection process is marked by the issuance of Assignment Letter number III/KONI RIAU/VII/2026. Through this letter, KONI Riau has appointed a special team authorized to conduct an in-depth review of all administrative documents submitted by each registering sports organization.
Deputy Secretary I of KONI Riau, Aryo Akbar, emphasized that all required documents must be submitted immediately to the KONI Riau Secretariat through the Organization Division. The committee has set a deadline of July 11, 2026, for prospective members to complete all administrative requirements based on the previously established organizational standard provisions.
Aryo added that this evaluation phase is a crucial procedure to ensure that each sports branch has strong legitimacy and complies with applicable regulations. This is deemed important to maintain professionalism and the sustainability of achievements sports development in Riau Province so that it is more structured and measurable in the future.
Later, the verification team will conduct a comprehensive review of the incoming documents before providing a final recommendation to the leadership of KONI Riau. This recommendation will determine whether the sports branch in question is eligible to be officially accepted as part of the KONI Riau extended family.
