MUARA BUNGO — A fatal case of violence has once again shaken the Bungo Regency area. Jansen Sinaga, a young man who was the victim of a brutal mob beating by a group of people in the Diamond Club parking lot, has reportedly passed away. The victim took his last breath after undergoing intensive medical treatment for nearly a week at a hospital in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra.
The beating incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, July 9, 2026, at around 04:30 WIB. This tragic event took place in the rear parking area of the Bungo Plaza Wiltop Hotel, Pasar Muara Bungo District, shortly after the nightclub's operations had ended. The victim was allegedly attacked blindly by dozens of people, suffering very serious injuries that ultimately claimed his life.
Responding to this tragic incident, waves of protest have begun to emerge. The Gempur Community Organization (Ormas) immediately took a firm stance by urging the authorities and the local government to immediately and permanently close the Diamond Club. This step is considered urgent to prevent similar conflicts and to maintain a secure and conducive environment within the legal jurisdiction of Bungo Regency.
