The government has officially declared the operational readiness of the integrated Public School (Sekolah Rakyat/SR) in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province. This educational facility, which integrates elementary, middle, and high school levels, is projected to start active operations by welcoming new students during the School Environment Orientation (MPLS) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

Minister of Public Works (PU), Dody Hanggodo, confirmed that the school's main infrastructure has been completed and is ready for use. This program was initiated under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto as a concrete step to expand access to quality education free of charge for children from underprivileged families.

Standing on 8.4 hectares of land with a total building area of 26,376 square meters, this boarding school complex is designed to be on par with leading private schools. In addition to modern classrooms, students will be provided with dormitories, daily supporting supplies, and laptops to support digital-based learning. Sports facilities such as a mini soccer field and a basketball court are also prepared to support the physical and character development of the students.

The project, valued at IDR 262.3 billion, is funded by the State Budget (APBN) for the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year. Its construction was carried out by the Aceh Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Working Unit in a joint operation (KSO) with PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk.

By mid-2026, the Ministry of Public Works had completed five Public School units in Aceh Province. Going forward, the government is committed to providing at least one Public School unit in every district and city as a long-term strategy to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through quality education.
