Inaugurating New Management, KORMI South Kalimantan Targets Strengthening Community Healthy Living Culture

The Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of South Kalimantan Province officially has new leadership for the 2026–2031 period. The inauguration of H. M. Syarifuddin as Chairman of KORMI South Kalimantan along with 80 other board members took place solemnly in Banjarbaru on Saturday (11/7/2026), led directly by the General Chairman of National KORMI, Adil Hakim.

The inauguration ceremony, based on National KORMI Decree Number 015/SK/KORMINAS/VII/2026, serves as a strategic momentum for the organization to strengthen its vision of cultivating sports culture throughout all corners of Banua. The handover of the KORMI banner from the General Chairman to Syarifuddin marked the start of a new responsibility in promoting an active and fit lifestyle for the people of South Kalimantan.

The Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Muhidin, represented by the Acting Assistant for General Administration, H. Adi Santoso, expressed high appreciation and expectations. The regional government encourages the new KORMI board to create inclusive program innovations, aligned with the spirit of making sports a daily lifestyle identity to realize a resilient and healthy society.

In his maiden speech, H. M. Syarifuddin, who also serves as the Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province, carried the motto "working together, embracing all." He emphasized the importance of collective synergy among the government, regency/city KORMI administrators, and all Parent Sports Organizations (INORGA) to optimize regional potential, including preparations for the National Recreational Sports Festival (FORNAS).

KORMI South Kalimantan took immediate concrete steps by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tourism Department and the Education and Culture Department of South Kalimantan Province. The integration of sports agendas into the Tourism Department's *Calendar of Event* is expected not only to popularize sports among the public, but also to become a new magnet in developing *sport tourism* capable of attracting domestic and international tourists to South Kalimantan.
