The Regional State-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) of South Kalimantan, PT Bangun Banua, recorded a brilliant financial performance by surpassing its net profit target for the 2026 fiscal year. This achievement has prompted the state-owned company to expand its business into several new sectors to boost Regional Genuine Income (PAD) in the coming year.

President Director of PT Bangun Banua, H. Afrizaldi, detailed this success during a Hearing (RDP) with Commission II of the South Kalimantan Regional Representative Council (DPRD). The net profit target for 2026, which was initially set at Rp15 billion, was successfully exceeded, with realization reaching nearly Rp17 billion by mid-year. This positive trend has a direct impact on dividend payments to the regional government, which continue to rise, from Rp5 billion in 2024 to Rp9.1 billion as of June 2026.

As a strategic move for 2027, Bangun Banua, through its subsidiary Nusa Bangun Banua, will handle the maintenance business unit for official vehicles belonging to the Regional Government Work Units (SKPD) in South Kalimantan. The official workshop, located on Jalan A. Yani Km 28 Banjarbaru, is equipped with a 24-hour emergency service and partners with local automotive workshop MSMEs to strengthen the regional business ecosystem.

In addition to the automotive sector, this BUMD is also finalizing plans to optimize the land asset of the former Batung Batulis Banjarbaru Hotel, whose operations were suspended due to high maintenance costs. Given the absence of investors for a complete building rehabilitation, the hotel land is planned to be converted into a commercial area featuring padel sports facilities and a modern cafe, with an estimated investment of around Rp5 billion.

Not stopping there, PT Bangun Banua is also targeting the healthcare services market niche by preparing to become a supplier of medical devices and medical oxygen for regional hospitals and Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUD). This business diversification is expected to strengthen the company's financial foundation while providing a more significant contribution to regional development.
