The Institute for Agromaritime Development and Innopreneurship Acceleration (LPA2I) of IPB University has once again consolidated its position as a top-tier business incubator in Indonesia. This achievement was secured at the 2026 Micro Enterprise Festival, which carried the theme “Connected MSMEs, Growing with Innovation, Legal, Protected, and Empowered”, on Monday (29/6).

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, in his speech expressed high appreciation to the 17 business incubators that achieved Grade A. He emphasized the crucial role of incubators in nurturing innovative new entrepreneurs, who are expected to become the driving force of national economic growth through the development of competitive startups.

Dr. Handian Purwawangsa, Head of LPA2I IPB University, received the award in person. He expressed his gratitude and commitment for the LPA2I team to continue providing optimal contributions to the development of MSMEs throughout Indonesia. Echoing this, Prof. Rokhani, Deputy Head of LPA2I, revealed that this is the fourth time IPB's business incubator has achieved the top predicate, an achievement that reflects the continuous dedication of the internal team.

Achieving the Grade A ranking was not an instant result, but rather the outcome of a highly rigorous selection process by the Ministry of MSMEs of the Republic of Indonesia. The evaluation stages included a comprehensive assessment starting from document submission via the Incubation Information Registration and Evaluation System (SIPENSI), strategic presentations, to factual verification at the LPA2I IPB Startup Center.

This success is clear evidence that the entrepreneurial ecosystem at IPB University has matured in producing independent, scalable, and sustainable startups. With this national recognition, it is hoped that LPA2I IPB can continue to strengthen the synergy between academic innovation and industry needs, while providing broad added value to the national economy.
