The search operation for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Wonosobo Regency, who were reported missing while planning to hike Mount Bismo, has been officially extended. This decision was made after an eight-day sweep yielded no significant results.
The two teenagers still being searched for have been identified as Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15). Both reportedly left their residence on Tuesday (30/6/2026) and are strongly suspected to have traversed the hiking trail of Mount Bismo before eventually losing contact.
Sabarno, the Coordinator of the Quick Response Team (TRC) of the Wonosobo Regency Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), revealed that a thorough evaluation of the search results over the past week formed the basis for extending the operation. The joint SAR team believes that the chance of finding both victims still remains, so field search efforts will continue to be intensified.
As a strategic measure, Basarnas decided to reinforce the search fleet by deploying five additional personnel from the Semarang SAR Office. This addition of personnel is expected to maximize the search in high-priority, hard-to-reach areas within the forest and on the mountain slopes.
To date, hundreds of personnel from various elements, ranging from the military (TNI), police (Polri), BPBD, to nature lover community volunteers, remain on standby. The search focus remains on the hiking trail and the forest area around Mount Bismo to return both teenagers to their families.
