In addition to the Red and White Peak (Puncak Merah Putih) already known via the Malanggaten route, Mount Giyanti in Magelang Regency has now opened access to a new hiking destination, namely Gilimantren Peak. Located on the northern side of the mountain, this peak, sitting at an altitude of 1,153 meters above sea level (masl), offers spectacular views to the northwest, with the grandeur of Mount Sumbing as its main backdrop.
Hikers interested in conquering this peak can start their journey through Basecamp Anjraha, located in Plalar Hamlet, Genito Village, Windusari District. Access to this location is relatively easy, with a distance of about 16.6 kilometers from the center of Magelang City, taking approximately 35 to 45 minutes by land.
The route to Basecamp Anjraha is in the same direction as the hiking trail to the Red and White Peak. It should be noted that access to the hiking starting point at the end of Plalar Village can only be traversed by two-wheeled vehicles. For hikers bringing four-wheeled vehicles, a parking area is available in the local village area.
To date, there is no direct public transportation access serving the route to Basecamp Anjraha. Therefore, visitors are strongly advised to use private vehicles to make the journey to the hiking point more flexible and efficient.
