Meta Platforms Inc. has just launched Muse Image, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) model designed specifically for generating visuals based on text prompts. This innovation marks a milestone for the California-based tech giant, following major restructuring and trillions of rupiah in AI infrastructure investments over the past year under the leadership of Chief AI Officer Alexander Wang.

Starting Tuesday local time, Muse Image is available as a feature within the Meta AI chatbot and will be gradually integrated into the company's app ecosystem, including Instagram and WhatsApp. This technology allows users to create new images from scratch using text instructions, as well as edit existing photos with the help of the intelligent engine.

In addition to targeting general users, Meta is also providing special access for advertisers to efficiently produce AI-driven marketing materials. One of the key features offered is the ability to generate visuals featuring creators or friends based on public Instagram posts. However, as a privacy safeguard, Meta gives users full control through the settings menu if they do not want their content reused by the AI model.

The launch of Muse Image underscores Meta's aggressive ambition to win the global AI race. Through top-tier talent acquisition and intensive research, Meta is now positioning itself as a strong rival to leading companies like OpenAI and Anthropic in the artificial intelligence innovation race.
