Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station recorded a significant surge in passenger volume since it officially began operating on June 22, 2026. Latest data from KAI Commuter shows up to a 300 percent increase in users heading into the weekend compared to regular weekdays.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, explained that this phenomenon is driven by high public enthusiasm in making the stadium area a destination. The majority of visitors use train services to exercise or simply spend leisure time in the public spaces around JIS.
Based on operational records from June 22 to June 28, 2026, a total of 4,203 passenger movements were recorded at the station. Detailed data reveals that 2,555 passengers departed from JIS Station, while another 1,648 passengers completed their journey at the station.
Despite the weekend surge, weekday conditions remained stable, averaging 250 users per day. KAI Commuter considers this trend a positive growth indicator for the public transportation ecosystem in the North Jakarta region, while reflecting the effective accessibility of the stadium area.
