Another proud achievement has been presented by the academic community of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) on the global stage. The student team from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of USK successfully secured 1st Place in the Video Educational Competition category at the prestigious WORLD (Global Student Awards for Health) X GALAXY 3.0 event.

The team, led by Muhammad Haris’t, Muhammad Faiz Akbar, and Rais Aulia, captivated the jury with their audiovisual work titled “What’s Invisible About Refugee Healthcare?”. The video highlights the complexity of the behind-the-scenes systems that support healthcare services for refugees, which have rarely been exposed to the public.

Using a visual metaphor resembling X-ray technology, this creative work dissects the complex mechanisms ranging from the logistics distribution flow of medicines, cross-border data coordination, to the severe challenges faced by humanitarian workers in the field. Through this approach, the team wants to emphasize that maintaining refugee health is a vital foundation in sustaining an inclusive global humanitarian system.

Muhammad Haris’t, as the team leader, expressed that this video was designed as a reminder for policymakers and health practitioners. He hopes the message conveyed can encourage the creation of service systems that are more adaptive and resilient in responding to increasingly challenging global humanitarian crises.

High appreciation came from the Vice Rector for Student Affairs of USK, Dr. Rina Suryani Oktari. She assessed that this achievement proves that USK students possess a blend of capable academic quality and high social sensitivity toward global issues. This success is expected to spark the enthusiasm of other students to continue competing and making real contributions on the international stage.
