Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), Ranny Fahd Arafiq, positively welcomed the central government's ongoing effort to modernize healthcare facilities. According to data as of June 18, 2026, the distribution of nearly 1,000 units of advanced medical equipment—including dozens of Cath labs, CT Scans, Mammograms, and MRIs—has targeted regional public hospitals (RSUD) across 514 regencies and cities throughout Indonesia.
Ranny considers the distribution of this medical technology to be a historic milestone in bridging healthcare inequality. According to her, the presence of advanced facilities in regional areas will minimize patients' reliance, particularly those suffering from heart disease and stroke, on long-distance referrals to health centers in Jakarta.
While appreciating the availability of these facilities, Ranny stressed that the financing aspect remains a crucial challenge that must be resolved. She urged that all services utilizing this modern medical equipment be fully integrated into the BPJS Kesehatan scheme, allowing the public to access treatment without being burdened by heavy financial costs.
Furthermore, she highlighted the urgent need for human resource (HR) readiness in regional healthcare. Ranny warned that central and regional governments must not focus solely on equipment procurement, but must also ensure the availability of medical specialists, radiographers, and trained technicians through adequate training programs and incentives.
As a public representative, Ranny is committed to continuing to monitor the implementation of this program in her electoral district of West Java VI, which covers Bekasi and Depok. She emphasized the need for a long-term maintenance system to ensure that this major state investment remains productive and does not end up abandoned due to a lack of technical maintenance.
