Semarang – The Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Wakapolri), Police Commissioner General Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, directly inspected the implementation of the Specialist Medical Examination (Rikkes) for Police Academy (Akpol) cadet candidates for the 2026 fiscal year. The activity, which took place at the Akpol Multipurpose Building in Semarang, aims to ensure that all recruitment stages run with strict professional standards and transparency.
During the review, the leadership of the National Police emphasized the importance of adopting the latest medical technology to create a precise selection process. A total of 409 participants underwent a series of examinations at 12 specialist stations covering various vital aspects, ranging from neurological conditions and internal organ functions to musculoskeletal health.
One of the main highlights in this year's selection is the use of digital-based *Heart Rate Variability* (HRV) and *Bone Mineral Density* (BMD) devices. The use of this technology allows the medical team to evaluate cardiac endurance under physical stress and accurately measure bone density. This step was taken as a preventive strategy to detect potential early injuries that often become obstacles during police training.
The Head of the Police Medicine and Health Center (Pusdokkes) through his representative emphasized that the integration of *evidence-based medicine* is key in transforming the recruitment of the National Police. With more objective and measurable medical parameters, it is hoped that the selection results will be able to produce officer candidates who not only possess high integrity but also prime physical resilience, ready to face the dynamics of field duties.
The Deputy Chief of Police emphasized that the modernization of medical equipment is a long-term investment to build superior human resources for the National Police. This science-based approach is a real manifestation of the institution's commitment to realizing a clean, accountable, and humanistic recruitment system, in line with the spirit of the future transformation of the National Police.
