The Padang City Government is tightening controls over the operation of entertainment venues, cafes, and restaurants. This step was implemented through a joint operation involving the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the SK 4 Team, and various technical agencies on Wednesday (1/7/2026) night.

The main focus of this supervision targets compliance with business legality and alcoholic beverage sales mechanisms. Authorities emphasized that all business activities in the capital of West Sumatra must possess valid licensing documents to maintain public order and comfort.

During the activity, the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) was present to provide technical guidance to business actors who have not met their administrative obligations. Meanwhile, the Trade Office emphasized the principle of one permit for one location, meaning business owners with different branches must obtain separate permits according to applicable regulations.

In addition to administrative aspects, Satpol PP also provided preventive education to venue managers regarding the storage and serving procedures of alcoholic beverages. This persuasive and developmental approach is expected to create a healthy investment climate without disregarding security aspects and social norms applicable in Padang City.
