An atmosphere of warmth filled the downtown area of Surabaya on Friday (3/7) morning, as thousands of residents gathered to celebrate the 80th Bhayangkara Day. Titled "Seduluran Arek Suroboyo" (Surabaya Youth Brotherhood), this joint sports event served as a platform for direct interaction between the Surabaya City Police leadership, various elements of society, communities, and local figures.
The event, themed "80 Years of Service, National Police for the Community," kicked off with a fun walk along the city's main arterial routes, followed by a joint gymnastics session. Head of Surabaya City Police, Police Grand Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Luthfie Sulistiawan, attended in person to mingle with National Police personnel, the Bhayangkari extended family, and the enthusiastic general public filling the venue.
In his remarks, Kombes Pol Luthfie emphasized the importance of synergy between the police and citizens as a fundamental foundation for maintaining a conducive public order and safety (kamtibmas) situation. For him, this National Police anniversary was not merely a formal celebration, but a momentum to deepen emotional bonds to create a safe and harmonious environment.
The event proceeded lively with the distribution of various exciting prizes. The atmosphere grew even more vibrant during the door prize drawing, featuring a motorcycle as the grand prize, which served as a major highlight for the sports participants.
