PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA) has officially taken a strategic step to expand its business scale through the acquisition of property assets worth IDR 780 billion. This affiliated transaction involves the transfer of assets from five subsidiaries of Multipolar (MLPL), part of the Lippo Group ecosystem, to support national retail network expansion targets.

The acquisition process was finalized through the signing of the sale and purchase binding agreement (PPJB) at the end of June 2026. The acquired assets include various strategic locations across the country, ranging from land in Balaraja Tangerang, assets in Bogor, Gedoeng Merah Shopping Center in Yogyakarta, Plaza Gresik in East Java, to strata-title units at Mall City of Tomorrow, Surabaya.

MPPA management emphasized that owning assets directly is far more efficient than leasing. With full ownership, the company secures long-term operational certainty and avoids the risk of rental cost fluctuations, which are often a challenge in the retail industry.

This step also provides high flexibility for the company in reconfiguring store layouts, developing commercial areas, and integrating omni-channel services. Through this asset ownership, MPPA now has full control to adapt its multi-format retail ecosystem to better align with market dynamics and future modern customer needs.
