BAZNAS Palembang City officially opened its doors to six students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) of Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN) Palembang to undergo a professional internship program. The welcoming ceremony took place solemnly at the BAZNAS Palembang City Office on Monday (7/6/2026).
Over the next month, the interns will dive directly into the institution's operational rhythm. They are scheduled to be actively involved in various service lines, ranging from administrative aspects, the ZIS (Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah) fund collection system, to the distribution process of assistance to those in need.
Chairman of BAZNAS Palembang City, Kgs. M. Ridwan Nawawi, S.Pd.I., M.M., welcomed this collaboration positively. He emphasized that the program is designed as a bridge for students to transform academic theory into real field experience. "We want students not only to learn conceptually, but also to understand the essence of transparency and accountability in managing community funds," he explained.
Furthermore, Ridwan hopes that this synergy between academia and philanthropic institutions can produce graduates who are not only intellectually superior, but also possess high integrity and social concern. The main focus of this program is to equip students with professional ethics and deep insights into Islamic economics before they step into the real workforce.
This collaboration is part of BAZNAS Palembang City's ongoing commitment to supporting the improvement of human resource quality in the educational environment. Through direct involvement in social activities, the students are expected to become agents of change who can educate the public on the strategic role of zakat in empowering the community's economy.
