The government of Ujung Kampung Village, Samadua District, now has an initial reference to strengthen regulations in the health sector at the village level. This follows the submission of the draft Village Qanun (Regulation) on Health by students of the Field Learning Practice (PBL) II program from the Public Health Study Program of Teuku Umar University (UTU) on Saturday (25/7/2026).
The important document was symbolically handed over by the Coordinator of the UTU PBL Team, Afrihal Dwi Andika, to the Keuchik (Village Head) of Ujung Kampung, Nurzal, witnessed by the Village Secretary. The ceremony was also attended directly by the Field Supervisor, Dr. Yulizar Kasma, and the Chairman of the Samadua Keuchik Forum, Saifullah.
This draft village regulation was initiated to provide a formal legal foundation for the village government in planning, budgeting, and implementing integrated public health programs. The regulation covers various vital aspects, such as strengthening the capacity of Posyandu (integrated health post) cadres, implementing Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors (PHBS), nutritional improvement, environmental sanitation, maternal and child health, and disease prevention. The draft also supports the implementation of Primary Care Integration (ILP) at the village level.
The Coordinator of the UTU PBL Team, Afrihal Dwi Andika, explained that the drafting of this qanun was motivated by the village's need for clear regulations to manage the health of its citizens independently and sustainably. He hopes that this initiative will encourage the creation of a more health-conscious village and improve the quality of life of the local community.
Responding to this, the Keuchik of Ujung Kampung, Nurzal, expressed high appreciation for the students' tangible contribution. He emphasized that this draft will be further discussed with the Village Consultative Body (Tuha Peut), local medical personnel, and community leaders for refinement before being enacted as a village regulation with permanent legal force.
