The Master's Program in Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (FIP UNJ) took a strategic step to strengthen its global footprint. This effort was realized through an international guest lecture titled "Distinguished Visiting Professor Lecture" on Wednesday (7/22/2026), featuring education expert Univ.-Prof. Zsolt Lavicza from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Austria.
Under the theme "Exploring New Frontiers in Educational Technology Research", the event was designed to map out new directions in educational technology research. Prof. Zsolt Lavicza, widely known for his dedication to STEM research methods, educational technology, and learning innovation, shared deep insights into the transformation of digital-based teaching and learning methods with the UNJ academic community.
Before the main session began, the agenda started with a department tour to introduce the academic ecosystem at FIP UNJ to Prof. Lavicza. This step was followed by an interactive academic dialogue bringing together students and lecturers to explore potential research collaborations between UNJ and the professor's home campus in Austria. The delegation was also warmly welcomed by the Dean of FIP UNJ, Aip Badrujaman, in the dean's office to discuss strengthening institutional networks.
On this occasion, the Dean of FIP UNJ emphasized that the presence of an international-caliber academic is a crucial momentum to broaden the horizons of both students and teaching staff. The public lecture, held in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of FIP UNJ, was officially opened by the Head of the Educational Technology Master's Program, Khaerudin, and attended by other faculty leaders.
In his presentation, Prof. Lavicza outlined the latest technological developments affecting the education sector, such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and 3D printing. He emphasized that the adoption of these cutting-edge technologies must be supported by robust research methodologies and cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver a wider, real impact on the global education system.
