The National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of Dumai City is strengthening internal consolidation to boost regional sports performance. Acting Chairman of KONI Dumai, Abdul Khadir Jailani, emphasized the importance of synergy and togetherness among all sports branch (cabor) administrators during a gathering at the Sky Lounge Hotel Sona View on Monday (27/7/2026).
During the meeting, Abdul Khadir reaffirmed his commitment to making KONI an inclusive platform that embraces all sports branches without discriminating against group interests. According to him, open communication is the main foundation for building a healthy and high-achieving sports climate in Dumai.
In addition to strengthening relationships, this meeting also discussed important organizational agendas. In August, the Recruitment and Screening Team (TPP) is scheduled to hold a coordination meeting to prepare for the election of the definitive Chairman of KONI Dumai, which is expected to run transparently and in accordance with applicable regulations.
Another strategic step revealed was the plan to relocate the KONI Dumai secretariat to the Wan Dahlan Ibrahim Stadium area. This new location is projected to serve as a shared office for all sports branches to facilitate administrative coordination while optimizing integrated athlete development programs.
Despite facing various challenges and budget constraints, Abdul Khadir remains optimistic that Dumai's sports achievements can soar. He believes that solid collaboration between sports branches, administrators, local government, and the community will be the main key to this success.
