BPJS Kesehatan remains committed to expanding the coverage of health insurance for the public. One strategic step currently implemented is opening a registration scheme for Additional Family Members specifically for participants in the State Administrator Wage Earners (PPU PN) category.
This policy allows participants, such as civil servants (PNS), the military (TNI), the police (Polri), and central contract-based government employees (PPPK), to include family members previously not covered under primary dependents into the JKN program. The family members include fourth children and beyond, as well as parents or parents-in-law, providing a broader sense of security for state apparatuses in accessing medical services.
Head of BPJS Kesehatan Pekalongan Branch, M. Idar Aries Munandar, explained that this regulation refers to the Regulation of the Director General of Treasury Number PER-7/PB/2021. According to him, the scheme is designed for an efficient registration process through a 1 percent salary deduction system from the participant's monthly income for each additional family member.
The registration procedure is carried out collectively by the relevant work unit through the Budget Execution Officer (KPA) or Commitment Making Officer (PPK). This mechanism is expected to cut red tape so that the right to health protection can immediately be felt by the family members of participants in need.
The tangible benefits of this policy have been felt by participants, including Mambaul Ulum. He expressed that the presence of this program provides peace of mind because access to quality health services can now be provided to parents without having to worry about high medical costs.
