The Panti Sectoral Police (Polsek) have officially named two men with the initials PN and AD as suspects in a crop theft case. The two were apprehended after being caught red-handed carrying dozens of kilograms of stolen coffee from the Gunung Pasang Plantation area, Panti District, Jember.
The Chief of Panti Sectoral Police, Police Commissioner Assistant Idham Cholid, revealed that the disclosure of this case began with the plantation security guards' suspicion of unusual activities around their work area. The suspicious report was then immediately followed up by conducting a sweep in the field.
While tracking the area around the forest, the security guards found two bicycles left at the edge of the woods. After conducting surveillance for some time, the officers finally spotted the two perpetrators emerging from the plantation area, each carrying a sack of coffee on their shoulders.
Both perpetrators, along with the evidence, were immediately taken to the Panti Sectoral Police Headquarters for further investigation. From the suspects, the police seized evidence in the form of two sacks of coffee with a total weight of 62 kilograms, with each sack weighing 31 kilograms. Currently, investigators are still finalizing the case files and preparing the appropriate charges to prosecute the two perpetrators.
